Job Description

Founded in 2008, Denali, sister company of Direct Technology, provides peace of mind to founding teams through accounting, financial, HR and founder consulting services. After 13 years of organic growth, Denali was acquired in December 2020 by the TA Group.  With additional resources and support, we are investing in and expanding our team to support strategic growth while ensuring excellent service to our startup clients.

We serve as thought partners to our clients and have visibility into a whole host of the challenges and opportunities facing founding teams.  These fast-growing clients require Human Resources support, both strategic and tactical, and we are ideally positioned to provide that as part of our suite of “founder consulting” services.   From gaming to life sciences, SAAS to robotics, our clients are inventing the future and need expert support in building systems and companies that scale!

In building out this new HR practice, we seek a full-time Human Resources Generalist to join our team and provide mission-critical HR consulting services to Denali clients.  You may spend between 8-40 hours per month on any given client, so variety-seeking individuals are encouraged to apply!

SUMMARY: 

You are likely to be the only Human Resources team member for our clients, and as such may be called on to support everything from their hiring, performance issues and terminations, onboarding, benefits administration, and multi-state compliance issues.


RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES INCLUDE: 

  • Serving as the client’s trusted Human Resources partner, which means not just responding to requests, but identifying and resolving issues that may not be in the client’s consideration set. You will likely interact with the executive team, operating departments, additional partners (law firms, CPA’s), and accounting (in many cases, a Denali colleague!).
  • Championing an equitable, respectful, and rewarding workplace culture through advising on best practices for hiring, compensation, career pathing and retention.
  • Participating in the process of hiring and interviewing staff, managing benefits, and leave, and ensuring company policies and practices are being adhered to.
  • Reviewing, tracking, and documenting compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
  • Conducting or acquiring background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Implementing new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Performing routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave assisting in investigations; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Handling employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviewing policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintaining knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Other duties as assigned!

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • 5-7 years of related experience as a Human Resource Generalist.
  • 2 – 3 years working with or in startups preferred
  • Experience scaling business and multiple clients
  • SHRM-CP or HRCI certification
